New: map your situation with short checks

Short questionnaires help you get an overview, prepare questions and describe more clearly where you are getting stuck.

Practical tool

Not one symptom, but the pattern around it

People who get stuck in Dutch care often do not arrive with one simple question. Waiting times, handovers, medication, aftercare, work, income or responsibility may all be involved. That can make it hard to explain to a doctor, provider, municipality or insurer what is going wrong.

Zorgfuik has therefore added a new section: Map your situation. It consists of short checks that help you describe your situation more clearly.

Five short questionnaires

  • Process gap check: when you are being sent from place to place.
  • Delayed diagnosis check: when recognition or diagnosis is taking a long time.
  • Medication evaluation check: when a clear evaluation moment around medication is missing.
  • Aftercare check: when it is unclear who remains responsible after treatment.
  • Care impact check: when care problems affect daily life, work or energy.

After completing a check you do not receive an automatic conclusion as if a computer has assessed your situation. The aim is overview: which points are involved, which questions you can take with you and where a pattern may become visible.

Why this helps

Many people know that something is not right, but not how to name it. A conversation can quickly focus on one symptom, one appointment or one form, while the real problem sits in the connection between them.

For example: you are waiting for care, work is becoming harder, medication is renewed but not evaluated, and nobody is watching the whole picture. The question is then not only: what is the next appointment? It is also: who is keeping oversight of my situation?

The checks help make those questions more concrete.

Important: the checks do not provide a diagnosis, legal judgement or treatment advice. They are a tool for creating overview and preparing better questions. In immediate danger, call 112 in the Netherlands or your local emergency number. Thinking about suicide? In the Netherlands, call or chat with 113 Suicide Prevention.

Free and without an account

The checks are free to use and do not require an account. They are meant as practical support for people who want to prepare a conversation, organise their situation or understand where they are getting stuck.

Zorgfuik also uses the checks to make recurring patterns more visible. Not to assess individual cases, but to show where people keep running into the same problems in the system.
